OMS Music for Android: Privacy Policy

OMS Music for Android is made by OrderMySite (Francis Mwaka, Uganda). It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your music, playlists, play counts, favorites, edits and settings stay on your phone. This page explains what the app asks Android for, what it sends over the internet and why. The Windows version has its own policy.
What the app asks Android for, and why
- Music and video (media access): to list and play the songs and videos on your phone.
- Notifications: to show the playing song and its buttons on the lock screen and in the notification shade.
- Show over other apps: only if you switch on floating lyrics.
- Notification access: only if you switch on "lyrics for other music apps". Android then lets OMS Music see which song another app is playing (its name, artist, length and place in the song). Nothing else about the other app, and none of your notifications' contents, is read or kept.
- Microphone (record audio): only if you switch on the moving bars. Android requires this permission before an app may look at the spectrum of its own sound. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
- Start when the phone starts: only so a wake-up alarm you set still rings after a restart.
What leaves your phone
The app talks to the internet only when you use a feature that needs it. The details sent are the minimum for that feature.

These services have their own privacy policies. The app sends no identifier of you or your phone to any of them, beyond what an internet connection itself shows (your network address) and the app's name in the request.
What is kept on the phone
- Your library choices (playlists, favorites, play counts, edits to song details, saved lyrics, volume adjustments) in the app's own storage.
- Songs you record from a radio station are saved in
Music/OMS Music Recordingson your phone. Record only what you may; the station's own terms apply. - Sync files (.omssync) are written only where you tell the app to save them, to carry your favorites and playlists to or from OMS Music on a Windows PC, and read only when you pick them. They contain song titles, artists and playlist names, not the music itself. How you move the file between your devices is up to you.
- Backups are written only to a folder you choose. Playlist files (.m3u) and podcast lists (.opml) are written only where you tell the app to save them, and read only when you pick them.
- Bookmarks, audiobook places and the folders you hide are kept in the app's own storage.
- A short problem log (crashes and streams that failed) stays on the phone until you share or clear it from Settings, Help and about. It is never sent anywhere by the app.
Children
OMS Music is not aimed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Your control
Every permission can be taken back in Android's settings. Clearing the app's storage removes everything it keeps. Uninstalling removes the app and its data (songs, recordings and backups you saved elsewhere stay where they are).

If the app starts to keep or send something new, this page is updated first and the date above changes.
